The Lakeshore Museum Center and its family of Museums have a new look and Logos!
The Lakeshore Museum Center (LMC) has been serving the Muskegon community since 1937. To mark the occasion of its 85th anniversary, LMC has released a new set of logos and updated its brand to better reflect the connection of the seven unique LMC sites to each other and to the community of Muskegon.
“As we grow and expand our reach, we hope the new branding reflects the work and passion for the community we serve,” said Melissa Horton, Lakeshore Museum Center executive director.
Because LMC is composed of seven different sites, the new brand highlights that they are “a family of museums” that seeks to share the historical narrative of Muskegon County and greater Michigan. Each of the seven sites—Muskegon Museum of History and Science, Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry, Hackley and Hume Historic Site, Scolnik House of the Depression Era, Fire Barn Museum, and Muskegon County Archive & Collection—are spread across downtown Muskegon on W. Western, W. Clay, and W. Webster Avenues, anchoring them to the community whose history they preserve and share.
The variety of unique museum experiences under the umbrella of Lakeshore Museum Center offers visitors the chance to experience Muskegon history in multiple ways. At each site, visitors will find programs, exhibits, and special events. Take a 400 million-year journey, explore a Victorian mansion, or see a steam engine work a factory line from the 1900s. There is something for everyone at one of the seven sites.
