Over the past two summers, the Lakeshore Museum Center maintenance team has been working on the Depression Era House’s exterior. In the spring of 2022, museum staff started replacing rotted siding, scraping paint, repairing windows, and repainting the north (back) and east sides of the facility. This year, they began with the south (front) side of the house, and in July, detected severe wood rot on the columns that are holding up the second-floor turret. Without restoration, the turret will continue to deteriorate.

We are hoping to gain community support with LMC’s Annual Appeal for 2023 to raise funds to explore the total damage and complete necessary repairs. Any amount we receive will be a tremendous help to restore this turret to its former glory.
