The Lakeshore Museum Center is a not-for-profit organization that relies on memberships and donations to help fund its programs and activities. Your support helps us provide educational programming, care for the Museum’s 80,000 artifacts, and offer opportunities for thousands of children and adults of all ages to explore science and history.
There are many ways for you to get involved with the Lakeshore Museum Center or our four Historic Sites!
When you become a member, you are on the inside of what’s happening at the museum. You get special notices, early registration, discounts, invites to members-only events, and much more!
Our team keeps a wish list of items they would love to have including antiques for the Historic Sites, craft supplies to support family programs, and storage containers that help us preserve artifacts.
Do you have a Muskegon-related artifact that will enhance our collection so that we may use it to help tell a story about a special part of Muskegon’s rich natural or cultural history? Consider donating it to our collection.
Get involved with us by sharing your time and talents. We have many different locations with different needs. You might prefer to lead tour groups, help with grounds maintenance, or you might even like polishing silver. Come have fun with us!
We have seasonal opportunities and occasionally full and part-time jobs available at all of our museum sites. Check out our jobs page often to see if we have the perfect opportunity for you. We’d love to have you join our team!
Are you a student studying history, exhibit/graphic design, or education? These are just a few of the intern options we can offer students. We also offer multi-disciplinary internships if you want to see a bit of all departments within a museum.
