The Lakeshore Museum Center’s Historics sites offer guided tours designed to support K-12 curriculum. Tours at the houses may be arranged September, October, May and limited dates in April.

1. Select a Historic Sites program (page 14) from our Teacher’s Guide and several possible dates and times.
2. Please call Program Assistant Hannah Erdman at (231) 724-5541 or email hannah@lakeshoremuseum.org at least two weeks in advance to schedule a guided tour.
3. You will receive a program confirmation by phone or email.
4. At least one adult for every 6 children is required unless otherwise noted. Supervision is the responsibility of the teachers and chaperones.

Bring the completed form along with your school ID or a pay stub to receive free entry (where entry fees apply). Check our hours prior to your visit, while the Museum Center is open year-round, our other sites have seasonal hours.

Grants are available for Muskegon County schools. Applications will be considered on a first come first served basis while funds last, but will be saved in case more funds become available. Only one grant will be given per grade for each school during any given school year.
Grants will not be awarded for trips that were made prior to receiving the application. Grant recipients will be notified by phone and a check for $100 will be sent after the field trip has been completed. Recipients are also asked to provide a thank you letters or a card that we can pass along to bus grant donors.

- $50 per class of 16 – 30 students (includes 1 teacher and 1 chaperone per 5 students)
- $25 for a class of 15 or less
- $2 per student over 30
- $7 per additional chaperone
Non-Muskegon County Schools – Includes Hackley & Hume Site, Fire Barn Museum, & Scolnik House
- $90 per class of 15 to 30 students (includes 1 teacher and up to 5 chaperones)
- $45 for a class of 15 or less
- $3 per student over 30
- $7 per additional chaperone
