Since 1937, the Lakeshore Museum Center has made thousands of people imagine, discover and explore history and science through educational programs, hands-on experiences and special events and presentations for all ages!

FAMILY PROGRAMS & EVENTS

Friday Family Fun Nights

Once monthly on Friday

It’s a date night at the museum for the whole family! Join us for extended museum hours with fun stations and themes.

Saturday Open-house Programs

Every Saturday

Join us each Saturday from 1:00 – 3:00pm for a different themed activity.

Little Learners: STEAM Play & Learn

1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month

This is a free literacy-based program for Muskegon County infants and toddlers ages 0-4.

YOUTH CAMPS

STEM Camp

One week only in June

A week-long STEM Camp is back for students age 8-15 interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Enviroworks

Day camp in July

A morning day camp for children ages 6-11 to explore the Lakeshore Museum Center and discover various fun science and history topics.

STEM MINI CAMP

Two-day camp in April

This two-day minicamp for ages 8-13 will give children the opportunity to experience the brand new STEM Center.

ADULT PROGRAMS & EVENTS

Adults can have fun learning at the Lakeshore Museum Center too! Programs designed for the adult audience are often offered to coordinate with both our permanent and temporary museum exhibits. Examples of programs include guest lecturers, history classes and workshops, and special tours both at our museum sites and throughout the Muskegon County community.

Mad Scientist Escape Room

Grab your friends and come test your skills to see if you can escape the mad scientist lab in under 60 minutes! This escape room will challenge your teamwork and problem solving abilities.

Walking Tours

Join the musuem staff for a historic walking tour of Downtown Muskegon. Recurring topics include Legends and Lore, the History of Brewing, and local food.

Special Speakers

The museum often hosts guest speakers to come discuss various topics related to our permanent and temporary exhibits as well as other topics surrounding Muskegon history.
