Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake are very important assets for the Muskegon community. Commercial and cruise ships visit regularly, many kinds of boats have been built here and commercial and charter boat fishing continues. Water sports year-round are popular: sailing, boating, kayaking, fishing in the summer, and ice fishing and iceboating in the winter. This exhibit includes models of several boats familiar in Muskegon, sections about both commercial and recreational fishing and boatbuilding.
