YOUTH CAMPS

The Lakeshore Museum Center offers camp opportunities for all ages to engage in and learn more about science and history topics.

STEM WORKSHOPS

STEM Workshops are focused programs made to dive deep into a topic to understand all the aspects about it. Workshops include videos, creating models, designing experiments, and fun activities. Recommended for ages 8-15.

June 20, 2024 – Rollercoasters
Why does a roller coaster make our stomach feel likes it falling? How do engineers design and test out roller coasters so they are safe? What materials are best to make a roller coaster? These questions and more will be answered as attendees learn about and build several types of small rollercoasters.

June 27, 2024 – Foundries
This workshop will discuss how a foundry operates and what their importance is to Muskegon. Attendees will also go to the Muskegon Industrial Heritage Museum to see artifacts from past Muskegon foundries and have a chance to cast their own tin item.

ENVIROWORKS MINI CAMP

The museum’s annual summer camp is back! Enviroworks is for children ages 6-11 who are interested in science and history. This year’s topics will include paleontology and a chance to meet Paleo Joe, agates and geodes, candle science and many other topics.

Dates: July 22 – 26, 2024 – 9:15am-11:45pm each day.
Cost:
$25 for museum members | $30 for non-members.

Location: Museum Center Auditorium, throughout museum, park and sometimes historic sites.
