“Who’s Who in Company K” at Heritage Park

January 8, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us as we welcome author and historian Chris Czopek. Chris has spent 20 years researching the Native American Men from Michigan who served in the 1st Michigan Sharpshooters. Many of these men were from or had connections to West Michigan including George Stoneman who was from the Whitehall area. These men served with distinction and some of them were even captured and taken to the infamous Andersonville prison. Join us as we learn about this little known but fascinating chapter in the Civil War. The author will also be sharing how he was able to track down genealogical information on the Native Americans which can at times be a challenge. Copies of Mr. Czopek’s book will be available. Register via PayPal below or call 231-894-0342 to reserve your spot today.

The cost is $6 for members and $8 for non-member.  Sign up for all three sessions of the series at once for $15 for Members $21 non-members. Coffee, tea, and water provided.
