Candles were a very important item during the 1830s and were often made by hand. At Michigan’s Heritage Park we make our own candles to use.
On August 11th all visitors have the opportunity to join our interpreters in making hand dipped candles at our 1830s Settler’s Cabin.
Visitors can make a candle for free or if they would like to take their creation home, there is a minimal cost of $5. Regular park admission rates apply.
