      Make and Take: Candle Dipping

      Learn how Michigan's early settlers dipped candles. Visitors will have an opportunity to work with our interpreters at the Settlers Cabin to make hand dipped candles. There is no charge to make a candle, but there is a $5 fee to take it home with you.

      Native Americans and early Michigan settlers made their own dolls from materials they had on hand such as corn husks or cloth. Park visitors can make a corn husk doll for free, and pay a $5 fee to take it home with them.
