Join the Fun – Volunteer at the Lakeshore Museum Center!
Looking to make a difference, learn something new, and have a great time doing it? The Lakeshore Museum Center has exciting volunteer opportunities for youth and adults that match a wide range of interests and passions!
Teens ages 11–17 (going into grades 6-12) can jump into our Junior Museum Professionals(JMP) program – a hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience where you’ll explore museum careers, gain real-world skills, and make new friends while giving back to your community. JMP applications are open January–March each year, and our program runs April-November. Please click the Kids/Teens link below for the JMP application.
From history to hands-on activities, adults can experience the excitement of the museum firsthand! Whether you’re sharing your love of learning as an education volunteer leading school tours and STEM activities, helping out during our lively Friday Family Fun Nights, or supporting our dynamic exhibits team, there’s always something engaging to do at the Muskegon Museum of History and Science.
Over at our Historic Sites, you can bring history to life as an interpretive tour guide, lend a hand in the Fire Barn Museum, or help guests explore the Scolnik House of the Depression Era.
At the Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry, volunteers are essential in everything from welcoming visitors and cruise ship guests during the busy season to helping with cool behind-the-scenes maintenance projects in the off-season.
Want to get involved in our biggest events? Help plan our annual Lumber Barons’ Ball or pitch in with office support and museum-wide projects throughout the year!
No experience? No problem! We provide all the training and support you need. Whether you’re looking to give a few hours a week or dive into a long-term role, there’s a place for you on our volunteer team.
Sound like fun? We think so too! Come be a part of something amazing! Submit an online form through the link below, or download and complete the volunteer application below and email it to Volunteer Coordinator Marci Dalm at [email protected]. you can also mail it to:
