Presenter Bio:
Looking for a topic for a term paper for a local history class while a student at Muskegon Community College, Ron Pesch chose to dig into the history of football at his alma mater, Muskegon High School. While his paper didn’t impress his professors, it did lead to a lifelong fascination with prep sports and local history. What he found along the way was an impressive array of stories, stats, and accomplishments buried in scrapbooks, newspapers and yearbooks, as well as a vast collection of former Big Red players and coaches, happy to talk about days past.
Born and raised in Muskegon, Ron Pesch has served as historian for the Michigan High School Athletic Association since the 1993-94 school year. A business analyst, local historian and story teller, he is on the board of directors for the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame, and the International Buster Keaton Society.
