We have all been dressing ourselves for a long time and those clothes need to be constructed and cared for. How did Native Americans make and decorate their clothes? What did those in remote places in early Michigan do to get clothing? How did people take care of their clothing in the past. Join us and find out the answers to these questions and more.
Visit Michigan’s Heritage Park for our Clothing Construction & Care Through Time weekend where we will be sewing, spinning, weaving, washing and mending clothes. Help us tan a hide a the Wigwam Village, process flax at the Settlers Cabin, do Laundry in the Logging Shanty, and see the advantage of a treadle sewing machine in the 1900 Farmhouse.
