Story Telling Through the Mail features over 80 examples of “tall tale” postcards from around the country which demonstrate a unique form of popular humor dating back to the early 20th Century. Tall tales are humorous stories of exaggeration such as gigantic vegetables and fruits, farm animals, or wild game and fish. The exhibit is on loan from the Michigan State University Museum.
The event includes a special presentation on Michigan postcards from Dianna Stampfler from Promote Michigan at 6pm. Seating is limited, so please call 722-0278 to register for Dianna’s presentation.
