Shifting Shoreline Lecture Series – Museum Center

“Muskegon Lake as a NOAA Habitat Focus Area” – Terry Heatlie, NOAA Affiliateterry-heatlie

Mr. Heatlie’s talk will look at the work done on Muskegon Lake as a Habitat Focus Area, and what it might mean for the future of the Muskegon Lake Area of Concern.

This lecture series is presented in conjunction with the Shifting Shoreline exhibit. Each lecture begins at 6:00 pm. Call 722-0278 to reserve your seat. This is a free series.

Presenter Bio:
Mr. Heatlie has almost 31 years of experience in ecological resource assessment, fish and wildlife impact assessments in both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, monitoring, planning, permitting, NEPA compliance and Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA). Specific experience includes federal grant review; wetland delineation; natural features inventories; site planning and selection; permit negotiation; site selection and monitoring of wetland mitigation, restoration and creation projects for successful completion; aquatic invertebrate sampling in wetlands and streams; tree surveys and oil spill rapid assessment. This experience was gained while working at NOAA, the Corps of Engineers and in environmental consulting.
