Guest Relations Docent

Enjoy interacting with others?  Join our team as a Guest Relations Docent!  Greet visitors at special events and programs, offer directions through the Museum, and provide a positive experience to guests at the Museum.

Interpreter

Join the Interpretive Team at the Hackley and Hume Historic Sites!  Interpreters lead tours through the H&H homes, Depression Era house, and The Fire Barn Museum.  If you love history and want to share it with others, this is the position for you!

Collections and Archives

Assist the Collections and Archives department by preserving artifacts, finding research on rare objects and documents, while adding to your knowledge of Muskegon County and West Michigan’s History!

Education

Volunteer for school tours, play and learn programs, and special programs that center on teaching kids and families about science and history or perhaps help children get creative in the new STEM Center designing projects of their own!

Buildings and Exhibits

The Museum is always adding to its historic buildings, designing and constructing new exhibits, plus handling the general wear and tear that comes with maintaining a museum.  If you are someone who enjoys working with their hands and creating new materials and structures, volunteer for our exhibits and maintenance department to create something everlasting for the museum and the Muskegon Community!

Special Events

Enjoy the hustle and bustle of loads of people?  Assist us with Special Events by prepping behind the scenes, or be on the forefront greeting others, running a program, or other jobs that pop up at larger events and programs.

Whatever role you decide fits best for you, the Museum welcomes you to join their team!
