E.H. Sheldon & Woodworking

E.H. Sheldon & Woodworking

The E.H. Sheldon Company began in 1912 with the design of a woodworking bench and the Rapid Acting Woodworker’s Vice. The company grew rapidly and made laboratory furniture for hospitals and the federal government. By the 1950s the company was making laboratory furniture for schools in the science, homemaking, and arts areas. This exhibit has several E.H. Sheldon furniture pieces and is an area where museum docents demonstrate woodworking tools.
