Families whose children have ASD, or sensory disorders, are invited to attend a special Sensory Saturday event!
This is a FREE event where a variety of accommodations have been put into place to create an inclusive, welcoming, and safe place for the children and families. Families can visit the museum’s exhibits, work on a craft, and have the option to visit a quiet area to relax and unwind.
Sensory bags with items like noise-canceling headphones, visors, and fidget toys will also be available for families to check out.
To register, please contact Jennifer at [email protected] or 231-724-5543.
Funding for these programs has been provided by the Michigan Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP). Also, the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and National Endowment of the Arts.
