September 19, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us on a voyage of discovery in The Literature, Art and History of Gettysburg and the Civil War.  This special series of four lectures will be presented on Monday evenings from September 12th-October 3rd at the Lakeshore Museum Center by Muskegon Community College Literature Instructor Michael Johnson, Art Instructor Tim Norris and History Instructors Kurt Troutman and George Maniates.

Lecture Night Two:

3 days that changed history! The scourge of conflict at a hamlet named Gettysburg, resulting in 55,000 casualties and forever changing the character of the nation. The three-day seminal battle of our nation is revealed and examined.

  • Day One: Reluctant first Contact between Northern & Southern armies on the outskirts of town. The North retreats…to the high ground.
  • Day Two: General Lee takes the initiative at Little Round Top. Colonel Chamberlain must hold the Union line-at all costs!
