All-Access Tour – Historic Sites

This behind-the-scenes, no-ropes tour provides visitors with a different perspective regarding the interpretation of the homes of Charles Hackley and Thomas Hume. Registration is required!  Please call 231-724-5535 to register. September 24 Session 1:  5:00-6:00pm Session 2:  6:30-7:30pm Admission is $15 per person, $10 for members.

French Canadian Heritage Day – Michigan’s Heritage Park

Genot Picor, a storyteller, musician, and dancer, will help us celebrate French Canadian Heritage Day at Michigan's Heritage Park with three special presentations. Genot uses his talents to bring an interactive frontier history alive to audiences of all ages.  He will make presentations at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.

Make It Take It – Heritage Park

Stick stockades is the theme of this month's Make It Take It event at Michigan's Heritage Park.  Participants will learn about the Civilian Conservation Corps' role in building the blockhouse and have an opportunity to build their own stockade.  For $5, they may take their stockade home, or leave it for the next visitor.

Come and experience a time when making everyday items was a way of life.   Michigan's Heritage Park will have many different artisans on-site showing visitors how to make historic items.  Hand quilting, wool spinning, chair rushing, and blacksmithing are just a few of the trades that will be demonstrated all day.
