DESCRIPTION:Bring your young museum explorer down to Muskegon Museum of History & Science for some interactive activities in the museum galleries. These focused family activities are available on a drop-in basis at any time in the two hours that we will be in the gallery. They take an in-depth look at different topics from the properties of copper to how household objects have changed over time. \nJune 7 – The Properties of Copper \nJune 21 – History of Copper in Michigan \nJuly 5 – Morse Code: Learn where it came from and try your hand at it. \nJuly 19 – Cross Mending/Archeology \nAugust 2 – Past Present Future: How objects have changed and how will they change \nAugust 16 – What Would You Bring? A Look at WhatImmigrants Chose to Bring \nAdmission to the Museum is free for Muskegon County residents and $5 for non-residents. The cost of these events is included in the price of admission.

SUMMARY:Little Learners: STEAM Play & Learn
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join a special Play and Learn program at the Lakeshore Museum Center on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. \n“Little Learners” is a free literacy-based program for Muskegon County infants and toddlers ages 0-4.  During this program\, participants will be invited to join us for storytime and free play with themed activities.  Registration via Eventbrite is required but there is no charge for this program.  All attendees must register including caregivers & siblings.  Please check our Facebook Event for updated COVID considerations. \nThis program will run for 50-60 minutes\, 15-20 for an organized storytime\, and the rest for free play and a craft.  During this program\, adults and children will have fun learning through songs\, stories\, sensory stations\, motor skills stations\, art\, and more! \nOur themes for this session will be: \nJan/Feb:  Sound \nMarch/April:  Robots \nMay/June:  Color \nWe will have a free book for families to take home as well as special crafts and activities to do. \nThis program is free.  If after the program you would like to visit the museum galleries\, the admission is free for Muskegon County residents and museum members and $5 for non-residents ages 3 and older. \nRSVPs required.
