SUMMARY:Mother's Day - Tours FREE for Muskegon County moms!
DESCRIPTION:Muskegon County Moms receive free access to the Historic Sites for the afternoon. Their visit includes a tour at the Hackley and Hume Historic Site\, Fire Barn Museum\, and the Scolnik House of the Depression Era. \nMothers will also receive a complimentary gift. \nTours start in the City Barn (carriage house) at the Hackley and Hume Historic Site. \nFree Parking on Webster Ave & 6th Street. \nThis event is free for Muskegon County moms. Other visitors on the day will pay normal admission: \nAdults $15 \nSeniors $12 \nKids 2-12 – $5 \nNo registration is required. Visitors are welcome to walk in during open hours. The last tour leaves at 4:00 pm.

SUMMARY:Little Learners: STEAM Play & Learn
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join a special Play and Learn program at the Lakeshore Museum Center on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. \n“Little Learners” is a free literacy-based program for Muskegon County infants and toddlers ages 0-4.  During this program\, participants will be invited to join us for storytime and free play with themed activities.  Registration via Eventbrite is required but there is no charge for this program.  All attendees must register including caregivers & siblings.  Please check our Facebook Event for updated COVID considerations. \nThis program will run for 50-60 minutes\, 15-20 for an organized storytime\, and the rest for free play and a craft.  During this program\, adults and children will have fun learning through songs\, stories\, sensory stations\, motor skills stations\, art\, and more! \nOur themes for this session will be: \nJan/Feb:  Sound \nMarch/April:  Robots \nMay/June:  Color \nWe will have a free book for families to take home as well as special crafts and activities to do. \nThis program is free.  If after the program you would like to visit the museum galleries\, the admission is free for Muskegon County residents and museum members and $5 for non-residents ages 3 and older. \nRSVPs required. The newest exhibit at the Lakeshore Museum Center explores some of the sharpest\, deadliest\, most poisonous\, and scariest artifacts that have been collected over the museum’s 85 years! \nCome explore the strange things that reside in our collection\, such as a shoe x-ray machine\, lead Christmas tinsel\, and toxic kid chemistry set. \nAdmission is free for museum members and Muskegon County residents and $5 for out-of-county visitors. \nDangerous Things exhibit will be showing from May 13 (with the Exhibit Opening Event) to December 29\, 2022.
