DESCRIPTION:Professor James Smither of the GVSU History Dept. will present the stories of several Muskegon-area veterans who served during WWII.  This presentation is in conjunction with the Veterans History Project. SUMMARY:Spinning Workshop at Michigan's Heritage Park
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to clean and process wool and find out what other fibers you can spin with. The workshop will also teach participants the parts of the spinning wheel and how they work. Learn about the differences between various spinning wheels. In addition\, staff from Michigan’s Heritage Park will be on hand to evaluate your spinning wheel. \nA second Spinning Workshop will be held January 21. At the January workshop\, participants will explore spinning with various fibers on drop spindles and other types of spinning wheels. \nThe cost of each workshop is $40\, or attend both for $70. You do not need a spinning wheel to attend the workshops\, however if you do have a wheel you are welcome to bring it.
