DESCRIPTION:STEM Workshops are focused programs made to dive deep into a topic to understand all the aspects about it. \nWorkshops include videos\, creating models\, designing experiments\, and fun activities. \nJune 20-Roller Coasters \nWhy does a roller coaster make our stomach feel like its falling? How do engineers design and test out roller coasters so they are safe? What materials are best to make a roller coaster? These questions and more will be answered as attendees learn about and build several types of small roller coasters. \nJune 27-Foundries \nThis workshop will discuss how a foundry operates and what their importance is to Muskegon. DESCRIPTION:Muskegon County Dads receive free access to the Historic Sites for the afternoon. Their visit includes a tour at the Hackley and Hume Historic Site\, Scolnik House of the Depression Era\, and the Fire Barn Museum. Regular admission rates apply for all other visitors. \nTours start in the City Barn (carriage house) at the Hackley and Hume Historic Site. \nFree Parking on Webster Avenue and 6th Street. \nTours are free for Muskegon County dads. Other visitors on the day will pay normal admission: \nAdults $15\nSeniors $12\nKids 2-12 $5 \nNo registration is required. Visitors are welcome to walk in during open hours. \nThe last tour leaves at 4:00 pm. \nFunding for these programs has been provided by the Michigan Arts & Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join a special Play and Learn program at the Muskegon Museum of History and Science on the third Saturday of each month. We are expanding our normal weekday sessions to provide a time for working parents and caregivers to experience this program with their little ones. \n“Little Learners” is a free literacy-based program for Muskegon County infants and toddlers ages 0-4. During this program participants will be invited to join us for a 15-20 minute organized story time followed by free play. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry for our first printing workshop!  This unique opportunity will allow you to spend two hours rotating between the printshop and foundry stations. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join a special Play and Learn program at the Muskegon Museum of History and Science on the third Saturday of each month. We are expanding our normal weekday sessions to provide a time for working parents and caregivers to experience this program with their little ones. \n“Little Learners” is a free literacy-based program for Muskegon County infants and toddlers ages 0-4. During this program participants will be invited to join us for a 15-20 minute organized story time followed by free play. Registration via Ticket Tailor is required but there is no charge for this program.  All attendees must register including caregivers & siblings. \nRegister at https://www.tickettailor.com/events/lakeshoremuseumcenter/1113239 \nThis program will run for 50-60 minutes and start at 10:00am. During this program adults and children will have fun learning through songs\, stories\, sensory stations\, motor skills stations\, art and more! \nProgram Dates:  January 20\, February 17\, March 16\, April 20\, May 18 & June 15. \nOur themes for this session will be: \nJan/Feb: Space \nMarch/April: Migrations \nMay/June: Shapes \n\nFunding for these programs has been provided by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and National Endowment of the Arts.

DESCRIPTION:Muskegon County Moms receive free access to the Historic Sites for the afternoon. \nTheir visit includes a tour of the Hackley and Hume Historic Site\, Fire Barn Museum\, and the Scolnik House of the Depression Era. \nMothers will also receive a complimentary gift. \nTours start in the City Barn (carriage house) at the Hackley and Hume Historic Site. Free Parking on Webster Ave & 6th Street. \nFree For Muskegon County Moms. Other visitors on the day will pay normal admission. Adults $15. Seniors $12. Kids 2-12-$5 \nNo registration required.Visitors are welcome to walk-in during open hours. The last tour leaves at 4:00 pm \n  \nFunding for these programs has been provided by the Michigan Arts & Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. (NEA)

SUMMARY:Sign-up Saturdays: Tin Punching
DESCRIPTION:Tin punching is a skilled trade\, artisan would work as an apprentice up to a journeyman. They created pieces that served a function as well as making them decorative in nature. Try your hand at creating your own piece of tin art. \nOnce a month we will have a Sign-up Saturday Program. The programs will be more involved than our typical Saturday Program and will allow visitors to gain some history/science knowledge and get hands-on experience with each topic. Recommended for kids 8 years and older due to building and tools used. \nEach program will have 4 time slots\, with each time slot running about 20-30 minutes.
