DESCRIPTION:This hour and a half program will invite families to explore the museum with activities at a variety of age levels around our monthly theme/topic. \nWe will have time as a large group for an introduction and then families will be welcome to explore the theme stations and the museum on their own. Before families depart we will meet again as a large group for one final activity and questions. \nEvent Dates: \n9/11\, 10/3\, 11/7\, 12/5\, 1/9\, 2/6\, 3/12\, 4/9\, 5/7 \nSchedule: \n● 10:00-10:15 Check in families/open explore\n● 10:15 Big Group Introduction in Auditorium\n● 10:30-11:15 Theme Stations and independent exploration (There will be at least two; one for older children and one for younger. DESCRIPTION:Using household foods like spaghetti and marshmallows\, construct a strong bridge.We’ll add weight and see how much it can withstand. \nOnce a month we will have a Sign-up Saturday Program. The programs will be more involved than our typical Saturday Program and will allow visitors to gain some history/science knowledge and get hands-on experience with each topic. Recommended for kids 8 years and older due to building and tools used. \nEach program will have 4 time slots\, with each time slot running about 20-30 minutes. DESCRIPTION:Being located along the shores of Lake Michigan\, Muskegon County has seen many shipwrecks. This family night will look at one of the worst wrecks\, the wreck of the Steamer Muskegon.
