DESCRIPTION:The coastal sand dunes along Lake Michigan are the largest assemblage of freshwater dunes in the world. This session explores how dunes were formed\, why they matter ecologically\, their historical significance in our state\, and state laws related to them. \nLearn about dunes that were once here such as Pigeon Hill\, and the stories of how our dunes have been used – and sometime overused – in the past.
